今年對於新好男孩而言雖然是一個豐收的一年，但同時也是多事的一年喔！首先是布萊恩(Brian)因為先天性的心臟病而住院開刀，之後是(Nick)因為與弟弟合唱自己寫的歌曲而被人八卦成就要單飛離開樂團發展，凱文(Kevin)也因為客串擔任Vesus的模特兒被媒體影射不再眷戀新好男孩，原可憐的AJ以及豪兒(Howie)兩個人了，一個是在演唱會的時候用力過猛而拉傷大腿，馬上被緊急送至醫院急救，另外一個也就是豪兒姐姐因病而去逝，而最近的厄運則是他們最敬愛的製作人也因為癌症而病逝。雖然如此新好男孩依舊堅定告訴大家他們絕對不會解散，他們同時也希望歌迷能夠一起陪伴著他們渡過這種種一切的不順。目前剛得全美MTV音樂大獎「最佳流行團體」的新好男孩，除了將繼續前往歐洲展開新的巡迴演出之外，同時也積極籌劃他們的第三張專輯，這張專輯預計將在1999年的年初正式引爆，不同以往的是為了配合整張專輯全球同步發行的策略，新好男孩計劃將在明年春開始跨世紀的世界性巡迴演出，屆時各位新好男孩迷將可以親自與他們對話囉。

This year has certainly been a rewarding one for the Backstreet Boys, but at the same time, it has also been filled with its share of troubles. First, Brian underwent surgery for a congenital heart condition. Then Nick found himself surrounded by rumors that he was preparing to leave the group and go solo after recording a song he had written with his younger brother. Kevin, meanwhile, made a guest appearance as a model for Vesus, prompting the media to speculate that he was no longer committed to the Backstreet Boys. And then there were poor AJ and Howie. AJ injured his thigh after pushing himself too hard during a concert and had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, while Howie suffered the loss of his sister to illness. Most recently, another tragedy struck when one of the group's most beloved producers passed away from cancer. Despite everything, the Backstreet Boys remain determined, assuring everyone that they will never break up. At the same time, they hope their fans will stay by their side and help them through all these difficult times. Having just won Best Pop Group at the U.S. MTV Music Awards, the Backstreet Boys will continue on to Europe for another round of touring while actively working on their third album.The new album is expected to make its official debut in early 1999. Unlike their previous releases, this album is being planned for a simultaneous worldwide release. To coincide with this global strategy, the Backstreet Boys are also planning to kick off a massive world tour next spring, taking them and their fans into the new millennium. And when that happens, Backstreet Boys fans everywhere will finally have the chance to meet the boys themselves!
