Additional Commentary:

The Backstreet Boys have set yet another record.

“Unbreakable” debuted at No.1 on the Oricon Album Chart—and remarkably, it held the top spot for two consecutive weeks. As a four-member group, they explored a completely new creative approach, taking their time to craft this album. Its major success in Japan must have given them tremendous confidence as they move forward into this new chapter.

During their promotional visit to Japan in October, they completed over 50 interviews in just six days, passionately sharing their thoughts about the album with fans across various platforms. One memorable moment came from a TV appearance with the popular Korean vocal group TVXQ. A member later shared a conversation they had with Nick: “Nick asked me, ‘When did you start? Are you going to continue with the same members?’ I told him, ‘Of course.’ And he replied, ‘That’s just like us’”. That simple exchange beautifully reflects the strong bond and unity within the Backstreet Boys.

In February 2008, fans would finally witness the stage of this “new” Backstreet Boys. How would they reinterpret Kevin’s parts? There’s no doubt the performance would showcase even greater power as a four-piece group. And as they themselves described it, this tour would be a return to their roots—promising a show that is dance-driven, aggressive, and filled with a sense of nostalgia. In other words, a true entertainment spectacle.

The Backstreet Boys’ place in the music world goes beyond just their own success. Their role is to keep the flame alive—ensuring that vocal groups continue to thrive for years to come. It almost feels like a mission they were destined to carry.
